I can’t buy a gallon of a certain type of paint in CA because the paint supposedly is not low VOC. So anything that is 1 gallon or more cant be sold to people in CA.
However, if I want to buy 10 of the 14 oz cans of the exact same paint, that’s perfectly fine.
*Cost of a 1 gallon bucket: $60 plus tax
*Cost of a 14oz can: $9 plus tax
*Or I can have my friend in Arizona buy 1 gallon for $60 and have him ship it to me: $70 total
Also, just learned that paint thinners like Xylene, Toluene, VM&P, Naphtha is also not allowed.
For latex paint all you need to clean your brushes is soap and hot water.
But yes, it’s stupid when you can buy multiple 14 oz cans of something but not a 1 gallon bucket.
For indoor I would never use a paint that wasn’t low VOC, but I don’t like paint fumes. But you may be talking about outdoor paint, which I’m far less concerned about.
