Sourthernmost house in Carlsbad on coast

Are any of you real estate agents familiar with the southernmost house on the coast of Carlsabd / on west side of PCH?

5327 Carlsbad Blvd, Carlsbad, CA 92008 – 1 week change: -$93,884

Was there anything notable or interesting about the sale of this house? Was it sold below asking price?

It was a new contstruction or major remodel, and probably about as expensive as a house can get in Carlsbad… I saw it sit on the market for something like 4-8 months(I think?) and have been curious since then what the sale turned out like.. and whether if it may give some clues to the direction of the high end market.. I just drove by this house today and it appears they are building another similiar house 3 houses up from this one same style and equally as grandiose.

That house was brand new construction and then put up for sale. I drive by it all the time, I’d be curious to see what it sold for.

I basically know most everything there is to know about that house short of stepping inside myself. The Zestimate is wrong by a huge margin. That house sold for more than double in 06/2006. The $115k is not the sale price.

The house a couple doors down sold a couple years back and is now being rebuilt and enlarged. It has a 1 acre lot and doesn’t side the public stairwell for access. It’s going to end up being a much better home. They’re a ways off from finishing it though.

anx it was listed on 1/5/06 by prudential at an original list price of 8.975 M. It went into escrow on 5/5/06 at 8.2M and closed escrow 6/2/06.

Bugs, yeah the siding with public access staircase is pretty blah.. 8 million and you have foot traffic looking in your living room and backyard.

SD Realtor, thank for posting that.. that’s amazing.. The newer one they are building looks even nicer and has sort of cozy looking entrance.. the driveway kinda dips down and the top of the first floor looks almost flush with street level.. Really cool looking house, I’m going to stop by and snap a few pics tomorrow or Thursday – will try and post them here.

Side note..I’m wondering if anyone remembers notable 1990s house in that area.. it’s on the south east corner of Cannon and Pacific Coast highway.. it was up for sale for a really long time in the early 90s(from what I can recall).. It had a really ugly yard that cornered the street and had one of those big green electrical boxes.. From what I remember the house sat for an incredibly long time and the price dropped alot.. I don’t know for a fact as I was like 10 years old at the time.. but anyways they’ve since cleaned it up and it looks alot better.. they put up some concrete walls and change the way the street corner looks.. Anyone else remember this house? It was sort of a puzzling place, being so close to the beach and vacant for so long.. Its driveway faces Cannon park.. Here it is

One of my friends told me that house on the corner originally belonged to some TV star and ended up being subject to some legal problems. I don’t know if that’s true or not. I do know they did a lot of work to the outside.
