    plnrboy, I assure you, you are not alone in your disdain for Norv. This will mark my third season on this site hijacking threads with allan and SD, to discuss football and I feel it is like dejavu all over again that my ire is still directed at the same guy.

    Some gems from 2007 and 2008, take special notice of the dates as some threads span two seasons and they are eerily topical, as if they could have been written yesterday.

    Just do a search for the word “norv” and you will see that many of us have been diagnosed with norv turner rage for going on three years.

    Allan, SD is right, oakland’s O and D line are superb, if they ever get a quarterback and/or a new owner, you can have your glory days back. I like their new coach, he was a lineman and puts emphasis on the line as his starting point for rebuilding, I wonder what the over/under is on Al firing him. Until then, just enjoy singletary, I know i do, not that I am a big fan of that team but I like to root for them because it fills a void in my life, that void is the feeling of confidence in a leader, something we chargers fans have but a distant memory of. With jamal out and olshansky in dallas (doing a fine job btw) the d line sucks, injuries in week one took out 40% of the O line, I’m readying my throwing arm and eyeing the towel. They usually start slow, so this is almost expected, plus Baltimore is the real deal. But even if they make the playoffs, I dont trust norv. Norv is like tequilla, if every time you drink it, you are happy for a little while and then vomit, it gets harder and harder to try it again, to the point that even the smell makes you want to vomit. Knowing what it is like to be a Cubs fan was not on my christmas list, yet it keeps showing up under the tree.

    There are 35 days and 21 hours until the start of the NBA season, I’ll miss Ariza but am excited to see how Artest blends in.

    David Stern and Dr. Buss would like to thank norv turner, he is at the helm of the only pro football team in driving range of 20 million people and no player in purple and gold can be credited with bringing in more fans than Norv.

    Relax Guys its September. Friggin Denver lights up September every year and look where they end up. Successful NFL teams come together in November. They get better and more cohesive as the session progresses. November is what matters. You west coast FB fans need to learn to relax and enjoy the season. This is all window dressing right now.

    Hell at least your team is worth worrying about. Me I can safely spend Sunday’s having the kids play travel ball, so that hopefully they get to play a little HS baseball someday. Typically with the Browns I really don’t have much to miss (sorry TG)

    I wonder if the Browns were really freaking good if I’d be talking the kids out of playing on Sundays? By the way they are both Cleveland fans for life, and unlike me their formative years may breed indifference to “the league”. I at least had Bernie and a nice run in the 80s even if we were Denver’s beyotch in the AFC championship games. (I was at “The Drive”).

    sdr I dont know dude. offensive and defensive lines just cannot throw a switch…. you can muck through the afc west and limp into the playoffs 10-6 but you run into a buzz saw playing in a cold city back east in january.
