Seems like this could fit into any topic, has anyone rented a house that has paid solar and is on net metering? How do you work it out with tenant? They pay once a year? Is it even possible to put the electric in someone else’s name when you are net metering? Does that then break the grandfathering of the net metering if it reverts back to the landlord? An inquiring mind would like to know.
We rented a house with solar panels on the roof several years. The owner kept the SDGE bill in his name and we paid nothing. All other utilities were put in our name. Everything worked out fine. And I’m sure he did the same thing with the next tenant.
