I’ve been thinking solar ever since we got our first whopping electric bill( house is all electric no gas). I’m thinking the 30000 for solar returns about 20 percent in savings a years. Where else am I going to make 20 percent a year on 30000? After 5 years I’m even and get the solar for free? Seems like a screaming deal if you’re never moving
Are there any rebates or do I have to pay sticker price? Did the price of solar go down without rebates?
What’s the best way to go?

http://www.gosolarcalifornia.ca.gov/csi/index.phpI think the federal rebates expired or are about to expire… I could absolutely be wrong, though.

January 31, 2011 at 3:43 PM #660242waiting hawkParticipantI calculated 15 years to break even… Most panels are good for 15 years and would have to replace. Ill pass till the green bubble takes off and prices sink. I was the last to buy a flat lcd tv and ill probably be last to do solar.
