radical idea:
move to Tempe and live in the condo. You’ll lose the rent expense of the house and occupy the residence you own. Hubby can find another job while your 90k/yr job supports a family of 4. $1k/mo payment and a family of 4 with an income of 90k in AZ is doable.
It may not have been the life you envisioned, but it is the life that’s practical to save your savings, credit score, and reduce expenses until things ‘turnaround’ or circumstances change for the better for you and yours.
Not that this is a popular suggestion, but it is what it is.

August 24, 2009 at 9:41 PM #448484Allan from FallbrookParticipant
paramount, believe me, she needs no encouraging, for gods sake, don’t provoke her or we will be subject to weeks of debate on the merits of urban chickens again.
Now that i think of it, Aecitia and allan have so many similarities it’s scary, If i didn’t know for a fact that they are different people and that Aecitia hates the raiders and loves the chargers, and the fact that I intorduced her to this site after allan was already here, I’d have my suspicions. I’m probably the only one that doesn’t have them.
TG: Don’t even bag on my mackerel snapper soul sister, dude! Aecetia’s my gal. You’re probably Protestant, too, TG, and that’s fueling your anger and jealousy.
Hey, I realize that most of the women out there dig you, but you do have to share once in a while.
For the record, I had my own chickens here in Fallbrook, but they got munched by coyotes and I never replaced them. It was fun harvesting eggs (we had a rooster and five hens and all the hens were producing) and watching them motor around the yard rooting for bugs.

TG should talk about our similarities. He has two different personalities for what time of day and how much he has imbibed. I was thinking it is about time for a city chicken update and I can even provide a link with pictures. TG also has a lot of nun stories I think they taught him to play cards or something, so he is no stranger to religion either. Paramount, you are right about going back to our foundations. I would also like to say, I hope your job situation works out for you. It is definitely a time of belt tightening for many of us. I would raise chickens, but the HOA would not allow and the DH always threatens to eat the pets anyway, so I think chickens would be endangered species here. I think if there are past lives, I was a farmer.P.S. Allan knows far more about the military than I do.
