Be very specific about the location of the fridge – make sure you add it to the heading. Take into consideration that many of the people looking for home furnishings may be newcomers and are not familiar with the area and may need more information than someone who has lived here for a long time.
The only problem I have with Craigslist is that it covers such a huge area that I want to know exactly where the item is – especially if I need to see it before I decide to buy.
I was looking for a used car on Craigslist and didn’t even look at ads that didn’t say exactly where the car was.

We’re not leaving Scripps. We knew we wanted to leave this particular house in Wine Country – rather near those two homes on Riesling you mentioned in your Scripps Monitor post – because it has a pool and it’s costing us a couple hundred extra a month to run the pump all day and top off the H2O. Also being an older home w/ the original windows it’s costly to keep it cool in summer as the windows are only single paned and the home faces east/west so we get sun on all the windows all day.
On the good side we love the neighbors – great family people w/ kids with whom we hope to remain friends after we move. Also, the owner/prop. mgr. re-did the home w/ new carpets, hardwood, appliances, counters, ducting, etc. so all in all it’s a nice home and ‘hood, we’re just living on one income and the extra few hundred a mo. in pool and A/C costs can be put to better use in our budget.
We’d looked at moving to Del Mar area to cut down on husband’s commute but found mostly run down shacks in our price range so re-focused on Scripps/Poway/RB/Sabre Springs/4S and lucked out on a newer place in Scripps w/ no pool.

I’ll be able to pick up your kitchen set on Friday. Can you hold it for me?

Craigslist is great! I have had good experiences buying and selling. My tips: sell in increments of $20’s because most people go to the atm on the way, take cash only of course, and don’t post your phone #. Delete your ad as soon as it’s sold.

My main concern was with what kinds of people climb out of the woodwork based on ads on CL…And whether or not people have had success selling things off CL
Tried to sell a car once (about 15 years ago) out of the Auto Trader and met some scary characters.
Didn’t mean to sound so lame…
