Last time I visited Skyranch a few months ago it looked like a high end neighborhood. Some of the yards looked amazing and pride of ownership was evident.
Thx for stopping by and even more for starting one of the most iconic threads on the blog
Thank you for your kind words. You have been on this forum for a long time as well and have contributed many great posts about real estate in San Diego.

January 24, 2022 at 10:11 PM #823812SkyRanchOwnerParticipantStill here in Sky Ranch. It’s been a great community. New listings are rare up here, and houses keep increasing in value. Quick access to the interstates/state roads. Convenient location. Can’t beat the views and 20 min drive to La Jolla Shores on the 52. Ha! Lots of curb appeal in the community and pride of ownership.
Highest sale recorded: $1,600,000 for 3,270 sq. ft., 5 BD/4.5BA. Fantastic 270 degree view! Closed 7/2/21.

Not a bad ROI for East County.
January 24, 2022 at 10:54 PM #823813sdrealtorParticipantSorry to hear the drive to La Jolla is now 20 instead of 15 minutes. Thoughts and prayers

January 25, 2022 at 7:02 AM #823814CoronitaParticipantAll jokes aside, I’ll be the first to admit that I was wrong about skyranch. It’s actually a really nice community. It’s not my cup of.l tea location, but there’s some really nice houses up there overlooking the city.
I have a friend that lives there in a private two house gated area.
I was able to get from sky ranch to LJ in 15:43…
Not legally…well,.let’s just say it could have resulted in jail time.

FWIW ROI Is pretty much in line with most of SD though perhaps lagging the coast by a bit
January 25, 2022 at 4:25 PM #823819SkyRanchOwnerParticipantHa! The 15 minute travel time from Sky Ranch to La Jolla is now 20 minutes to accommodate for the increased traffic over the years. So, it’s still 15 minutes +5 for traffic now. 🙂
July 17, 2022 at 9:49 PM #826375sunny88ParticipantWith the traffic getting worse on 52 during rush hours Santee has become less attractive in my opinion if you have to commute.
July 20, 2022 at 11:40 AM #826390gzzParticipantInteresting to see a bump on this ancient thread. Skyranch I am looking at right now.
Thinking of looking at 6307 Triana.
I will be viewing some places in La Mesa and El Cajon on Friday.
Easier commute for me and bigger lots. Santee I think has more appreciation potential. I do appreciate new high end finishes, but there are always tradeoffs and for me an older house on a bigger lot is the better trade. And the 1.5 area buys some huge places on big lots.
