FWIW focus groups have been telling builders to get rid of living rooms for at least the last decade. Then again if I didnt have a living room where would I put my ping pong table?

In your backyard of course. (That’s where ours is… made sure we got an outdoor rated one and a cover for it.)June 26, 2012 at 2:54 PM #746550sdrealtorParticipantIt helps me keep my mind off the rabbits

I always put my opponenet on the dining room side. That way they have to dodge the cheap builder grade chandileer that hangs down. LOL

It seems like a lot of people don’t want them anymore. Personally, mine gets used all the time. I sit there to stare outside. When I have family over, some people will be in the family room watching TV while others are chatting in the dining room and others are chatting in the living room. Because they’re not all in one open space, you don’t have to talk over each other. My brother’s house (built in 2012), although it’s only 100 sq-ft smaller than mine, no way can hold the kind of party mine get. No way can he fit a table that can sit 14-18 people or have room for that many people to sit.June 26, 2012 at 4:49 PM #746567bearishgurlParticipant[quote=AN] . . . Could it be because your brother’s house has a lot more walls? :={

Funny thing is, NO. He has less wall (hard as it may seems, since I live in Mira Mesa, where we suppose to not have any wall). Actually, he has NO interior wall on the first floor (except to enclose a powder room).December 31, 2012 at 9:59 PM #757016SkyRanchOwnerParticipantHappy New Year Everyone! Just wanted to let you know that Sky Ranch is doing well! The new, Lennar, Crescent Heights homes are selling and all but 1 on a recent phase is sold out. The last plan 2 in this phase is selling at approx. $605,000. Also, the HOA assessment has been reduced recently to $223 per month. Also, as a reminder, there is no Mello Roos here.

Until SkyRanch is really 15 minutes from LJ I don’t think most people care.

May 10, 2014 at 9:13 AM #773885kcal09ParticipantLooks like most homes have been sold and the community on SkyRanch is looking very nice now. Many people enjoy living in nice homes at an affordable price with easy access to the freeways

26 minutes to la Jolla cove is still great, not so much for the cove/beaches only, but it makes it a fairly convenient place to live factoring most possible needs and wants for SD county living, Going north from the 52 is a disaster freeway wise even surface streets sucks , mega concrete,asphalt, stucco and tinted glass box disaster. I just hate going up there unless I am buying something from FLU off of craigslist. Living in that world would be a very high negative on the list of tradeoffs for that same SD county life somewhere else at equal or even less to much less price.
