Everyone I know who bought a home 15 years or more ago has had to change commutes and Jobs/positions etc.. at least twice.
Some worse some better but I would say most drive at least 30 Miles one way, but that’s LA.
I doubt most of you will work in the same location 30 years (or even 15).
Having a working spouse doubles that.
If you can manage to stay with the same employer in the same location for more than 15 years I commend you !!

I definitely like living in the new home better. But to each their own.

August 24, 2010 at 1:13 PM #595466briansd1GuestFor sure, more space makes up for many things.
But location is most important, in my view.
However, each bedroom should have its own bath, in today’s modern world (even if a small European style bath with shower only).
If a house is small, it should be well designed (like a modern Scandinavian or Japanese house).
If a house is small, it should be kept clean and uncluttered. That’s very hard to do for most people so they opt for more space.
