why have a minimum wage at all, and set it at $7.25 an hour? why not just get rid of it, if you’re too afraid to raise it? Open the floodgates to even cheaper labor, race down to the bottom even faster, get lots of people working, working working , longer, harder, 100 hour weeks, $100. nice and clean for math purposes. $1.00, 1 hour. makes sense. why should the gov be telling business what they have to “pay”?
the democrats seem to be, well, not very interested in doing a damn thing for common people.

imagine, for $100/hr, you could have a squadron of 100 people, slaving away, if you can find these people. 100 sullen teens, perhaps.
perhaps there could be breadcrusts involved? tossing loaves of old bread to the workers?
would the whole system really disintegrate if it threw a few bones to the bottom rung? trickle up won’t work?
eventually, if they kick the can down the road another few years, $7.25 will be $1.00 inflation adjusted anyway. so time will do the dirty work.

If theres no maximum wage, there must be no minimum wage. A penny a week. A SACK OF RICE PER MONTH and a patch of ground to lay on. Perhaps that not far enough. Negative pay. Pay me to work for me. For resume experience.
In fact, maybe theres a business idea you pay me $100 a month, i “employ” you, serve as your reference in a job hunt, put you on my firm website.

Sadly i suspect they would. Id subsidize my kids first job for 1.00 an hour for the roght opportunity.

Maybe ubi at $7 an hour is better than min wage at 15. Spreads the burden more widely.
