It is a personal decision and it sounds like it’s partly been made. No one here can make the decision for you, but I think most of us see the writing on the wall and expect prices to decline further, barring some incredible dramatic rescue. We are “optismistic” that there won’t be.
I went through this 2 years ago w/a family member. Urged to buy. Big arguments over it. I held my ground. Feeling very relieved that I waited. Now watching the declines. Still not at a comfortable price. Hesitant to buy if there will be further declines by year end. 10% makes a difference to me.
Will it matter to you? Will you be okay buying now even if there are further declines? That’s why I asked if it’s long term. If you plan on being there a long time, you have children, want the good schools and neighborhood, etc. factor that into the price and try to ride it out.
