December 17, 2008 at 9:35 PM #317258Allan from FallbrookParticipantPablo: Dude. I had forgotten about “Paint Your Wagon”, the only Western (that I know of) that featured Clint “the squint” Eastwood singing!
Grew up on Lee Marvin (my dad, a former Marine, was a huge fan since Marvin was also a Marine).
If you enjoy Westerns, did you ever catch “The Professionals”? Lee Marvin, Burt Lancaster, Jack Palance, Woody Strode, Robert Ryan and Claudia Cardinale. One of the best Westerns ever made, IMHO.

December 17, 2008 at 10:38 PM #317263PCinSDGuestAllan, nope I don’t think I”ve seen that one yet. I’ll check it out. I love Westerns, but it’s pretty rare that a new one comes out that is any good. I can’t even think of one offhand that’s recent.
I saw “Paint Your Wagon” when I was spending a weekend in Big Bear about 15 years ago. We watched that and “Fiddler on the Roof”. Classics, with plenty of catchy tunes that you’ll be humming or whistling after watching. Good memories of that weekend in large part because of those musicals. That, and the skiing.
