I remember something similar to this occurring in 2009 or 2010,
The police did finally catch up to the party organizers and they ended up in Jail for several years.
Be advised.August 16, 2012 at 2:42 PM #750390spdrunParticipantGood. If it drives down the value of foreclosures, paint is cheap. Party on, dudes — it just makes it easier for those with more money than you’ll ever see to buy the houses!
(So long as they don’t start brewing meth in foreclosed homes, which is actually hard to clean up.)
August 16, 2012 at 3:30 PM #750400afx114ParticipantI’d totally go to a Foreclosure Squirt Gun Party.
August 16, 2012 at 3:43 PM #750401briansd1GuestSharpie is horrible.
I had to repaint a lime green wall, and it was a lot of work with 3 coats of gripper primer, then white paint. I should’ve hired someone to do the work.
People who paint walls psychedelic colors ought to be shot. The house was owned by a Hispanic family that liked bright colors.
Sickening! I hate destructive people. I’m the type who will always turn off the light when leaving a hotel room.
Brian – I doubt you’re seriously suggesting that a family that OWNS a home not be allowed to paint the walls any color they want? And I hope you’re not making any racist stereotypes here….
If you bought the home, with lime green walls, you knew what you were getting.
OT,
When my son was young and he finished doing his chores he would say “Dad, I finished ..mowing the lawn, taking out the trash…etc.” I would look at him and say “What do you want some accolades?” We still use it as a joke to each other when some dumb thing comes up, “just looking for some accolades”
OK B-ri here are you accolades for turning out the hotel light………..
August 28, 2012 at 7:33 PM #750823briansd1GuestUCGal, I was trying to say that bad wall colors are hard enough to undo. Over decades those coats of paint will fall apart.
Sharpie destruction, or destruction out of spite, is unforgivable. No need to be destructive of things just “because you can.”
I can understand people walking away strategetically. But I don’t understand people who destroy on the way out. Trashy people.
Desmond, yes I want accolades for being respectful of things and not being wasteful. It bothers me that people think it’s OK to be wasteful of resources when staying at hotels.
August 28, 2012 at 8:04 PM #750826spdrunParticipantAmericans are generally wasteful, though. Look at other countries, where lights in apartment building and hotel hallways are generally either on motion sensors or on timers.
August 28, 2012 at 9:46 PM #750835svelteParticipantThought this thread was about the original sharpie parties.

my hispanic wife wants to paint the bathrooms atomic orange. there are other strange colors in paint cans about.
i was hoping for off-white…
August 28, 2012 at 9:55 PM #750837spdrunParticipantOff-white is so baw-ring.
August 28, 2012 at 9:57 PM #750838scaredyclassicParticipantwell, i think the bedroom is slated to be turquoise or something. off white is nice.
August 28, 2012 at 10:08 PM #750840scaredyclassicParticipantmy counterproposal was paint the bedroom white then buy some large canvases adn paint them crazy colors and hang them up…
August 28, 2012 at 10:09 PM #750841scaredyclassicParticipantmy kid has a whiteboard in his room to visualize homework upon. beats writing on the walls. i tend to think he might occasioanlly scribble on the wall if we hadn’t bought him a big whiteboard.
