ParticipantIts not just think Shawshank Redemption but act that way also. Use the time you have and apply pressure where and when you can. I am hardly standing idle nor do I rely on anyone or anything to magically make things better in the future. I go crazy whenever I hear anyone say well if its meant to be, its meant to be. I dont beleive in that nonsense. If you want it to be, make it happen. Whatever changes come down the road, my kids will be taken care of because that is my priority as it was my parents. I dont need much in this word other than a roof over my head and a sense of security. I can manage that. Everything else is treat when I can enjoy it but not a necessity.
SD R,
I know you are pragmatic just like me and making good use of the opportunities out there. You will continue to. Others dont have such vision and determination.BTW, to anyone out there if a drink doesnt bring you joy then find something that does. Life should be enjoyed.

ParticipantAdam, I was not joking. I agree with what you are saying about shrinking and that, but I think it gets complicated by the increasing lack of jobs you can really feel good about? I know for some others that is not an issue , but I can not imagine I am the only one with these concerns.

Participant

some complain about our deficits, but on the other, they complain if asset prices fall. They can’t seem to understand the correlation between the two. Those deficits are a direct result of our propping up the prices of worthless assets.
The non-payers are diminishing, at least around here. People have money and things are starting to get better little by little. Did you see the article in the UT about unemployment rates in Sd County last week? While it was in double digits in east county and south county, it was around 5% in NC (both coastal and inland). You really have a very distorted view of reality. Do you really believe that there are only a few remaining responsibile people? please stay responsible. i’m looking forward to dinner;)
Beware of u-3 numbers. Remember two million people are losing their unemployment compensation
