I agree with jpinpb and IMO it is in no way insulting or grotesque to lowball. In fact, I think it’s a buyers job to lowball, just as it is a seller’s job to highball.

People have varying judgments of what should be objective reality on many different levels, besides home pricing. It's simply human nature.

"…as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns — the ones we don't know we don't know."
