Selecting a Roommate/Housemate

So my Navy officer friend finally bought a house.

What’s the criteria for selecting a roommate? What are the rules of sharing a dwelling?

Are women cleaner than men?

I’ve never had a roommate and never intend to have one because of all the drama and horror stories that I’ve been told.

But I suppose that having a roommate could be fun (if you get along) and helps pay the bills.

Look for easy-going types who are relaxed and are not afraid to laugh at themselves. They may not be the cleanest people in the world, but I’d take a dirty roommate over a conflictive one!

If it is for money, there are a lot of people who will take a room and bathroom without kitchen or common space priveleges, this is especially easy with a separate entrance for the renter. Maybe give them a small fridge and a microwave if they want it.
