It’s pretty there but the town is nothing. It’s all restaurants and Jeep tour outfits! I find Prescott to be a nice soCal alternative but prices need to drop further there too.

February 24, 2009 at 12:49 PM #353677sdduuuudeParticipantSedona seems alot like La Jolla in the desert. Everyone seems to have money and there are lots of boutiques but no real industry. Lots of metaphyisical, crystal-worshiping types, too. Travel from there would be tough. Never appealed to me. I could see it as a decent retirement option, though.
It’s kind of pretty there, I guess. I never knew why people got so excited about it. They say the red rocks are pretty. Well, you should see Moab. For anyone who has seen Moab and the surrounding area, Sedona is just a place to pass through.

SDDuuuude and me both did our time as Zonies…
Let me tell you about everyone that retires to that area.
They come back to where ever they are from in two years. While extremely beatiful, it is usually too quite for people there and the town gets old quick.
Plus the “wacko” level is unbelievable out there. SDDuuuude was right about the metaphyical thing. Lot of crystal loving ppl out there. I am surprise that they haven’t built an airport out there that features a tarmac for UFO parking. I kid you not!
John McCain has a place there too.
