From ziprealty, listings at over 20K today. This has been on a steady upward trajectory since I started following it in January. It seems to be accelerating, perhaps influenced by a combination of “bubble” articles in the mainstream press, re-setting ARMs, good stock market performance attracting investors away from RE, and plain old top-of-the-speculative-bubble randomness.
I’m seeing 18,930. What are you entering for your search parameters? On the link page you included, I do see the 20K number, but in my account when I include all SD communities in the search I get 18,930. They must be including some additional communities into the count on the page you linked to..
I’m seeing 20K on ziprealty right now. http://bubbletracking.blogspot.com/ reported hitting that mark yesterday using ziprealty. Ziprealty does have a little flakiness to it, I’ve seen a 2,000 house discrepancy before, but figured that they were tweaking something and and sure enough it changed back to more realistic numbers.
