ParticipantSeriously, that woman was so stupid that it looked almost rigged. I could walk into the local Century 21 office and find some housewife/realtor that could argue the merits of buying now better than that woman, hell I could do it and I don’t even believe it.
I miss David Lereah. Sure he was full of crap but he was good at it, I’d watch and think “stupid people are going to believe him.” Ever since he left there is no leadership on the pro-side of the aisle, Yun makes me want to go to sleep, I can quote almost anyone I have ever met, read or seen and I cannot tell you three words he has uttered in a row. The NAHB’s economist, David Seiders, is practically bearish on housing and all the t.v. shows can muster is former prom queens turned realtors to debate actual economists who have written books, that lady hasn’t even read any. There should be some sort of handicapping or point spread now that it is completely unfair. Maybe housing bears should be told that they cannot use a word containing a certain letter for their entire appearance but not told the letter until ten seconds before air. “O.K. Mr. Schiff, you can’t use any word that contains the letter “R” for the entire debate.” Please give me something, form a competition comittee or bring David back, at least he would sidestep the facts in a clever way.

ParticipantTG,
Sure you can form three words from Yun, “buy houses now”. or maybe “houses dont fall.” or better yet “appreciation in 2007”. Other than that, do you really care what he says? That was all I needed to hear from that man to know I trusted him as much as that nice email I got about some poor widow in Africa with millions needing to get out.
As for this woman, she said it all at the very end, “Atleast I am trying to help!”. Huh? help who? By lying to them and making them house poor? Sure Malibu or Beverly Hills may be ok, but I am not sure about the majority of society being helped.
BTW, appreciate the last post, I was laughing so hard it almost hurt.-

Participantgoing back through the archives and watching those old shows gives a really incredible feeling… vindication? pride?
watch the fox clips from january or even last year where schiff is completely laughed at and marginalized and trivialized. then jump to q2, same thing. q3 july, same thing. then, in q3 september, things change. some of the douchebags from early 07 are no longer on the show. shame? some of the guys on the later shows still marginalize schiff despite acknowledging his prediction. it’s funny watching fox news in general and the pollyanna’s twist and turn and frivolize on where they buy groceries…
schiff is the only credible voice on fox news. and it seems that it’s only the past year that fox has invited him on.

ParticipantSmart Realtors today go on about how slow declines are going to be and how some areas are going to be different… we just don’t know which ones they are. They work on buyer’s patience or lack of and sympathize at all the right times like when the wife wants a house. They schmooze really good and butter people up waiting for that moment of weakness. They show that they themselves are very susceptible to those same weaknesses. Nobody wants to be a hero right? Most likely the buyers today are buying with people like that as much as with the perma bull, easy to see through kind.
