Is the casita rentable? I don’t remember if that topic is part of the thread so far. In any case, you might want to know if it is technically a granny flat or something else.For instance, my second small house,on the property I live on, is a “second dwelling unit”. It is legally rentable. There is a document recorded with the county verifying this. I think rules against renting out granny flats were made to be broken but breaking rules reflects worse on some than others. Anyway, perhaps it is something to consider? I know you don’t need any rent to help pay the mortgage and wouldn’t probably want a tenant, but the uses allowed for the casita could reflect on its value.
