There were at least four McMansion sales in Santaluz under 1 mil in the last three months. Neither of them this big, though.
This house has been listed for 1.3-1.5 since May. MLS #81033302.

November 25, 2008 at 5:30 PM #309423DWCAPParticipantMaybe I am just not getting it, but the first thing I thought when I saw that picture on the MLS was “It looks like an old French country farm house with a tumor of a garage growing off one side.” Then there is some kinda internal patio area or something, and more housing behind it, or the house behind it looks right into your house from above.
I dont know, a million bucks for a house that they claim has a view and yet dont even bother to show? The only view I can see is that of the neighbors. Or is this the “mountain views” that I can get in Mira mesa looking east? (look mountains!)November 25, 2008 at 5:30 PM #309362DWCAPParticipantMaybe I am just not getting it, but the first thing I thought when I saw that picture on the MLS was “It looks like an old French country farm house with a tumor of a garage growing off one side.” Then there is some kinda internal patio area or something, and more housing behind it, or the house behind it looks right into your house from above.

It’s on the edge of developed land.
It’s rather unbalanced. Even aside from my pet peeve (no land, awfully close to your neighbors). 100 feet from Camino Del Sur. And you can’t even get onto Camino Del Sur directly, you have to take a long detour. 6 bathrooms. Who could possibly need 6 bathrooms in a single-family house?
IMHO these houses are best suited as multi-family residences. You could comfortably fit 5 Mexican immigrant families in one. Comes out to only 200K mortgage for each family. Alternatively, it could be purchased by an investor and each bedroom could be rented to a separate family at $1200/month. It would even cash flow. Residents could pay their rent cleaning neighbors’ houses and mowing neighbors’ lawns.
