    Thanks so much SD Realtor. Yeah, we are relocating to that area so we will head out there and see several homes. I agree with you that prices will most likely tread lower in the next 1-2 years. However, we are buying a home for the long haul. We will most likely stay in the house the next 15-20 years until our young kids are out of the house.

    We don’t want to move around from rental to rental so want to buy. I’ve been waiting on the sidelines for the past 7 years.

    I do agree with you that interest rates are heading up, mortgages will be tougher to come by (especially Jumbo mortgages) and I think unemployment will stay high for the next few years.

    Still, we’ll definitely be buying towards the end of the year. Thanks for your comments…we’ll make sure to check out the area…

    Standard Pacific just opened 2 new developments at Del Sur. Price range in $700 k range. Would expect a big demand there.

    We went to the grand opening last Sat. There are lots of people looking. We are not familiar with del sur, but looking at the map, it seems a less desirable part of del sur. Where do the residents shop? and how is the commute to Sorrento Valley? We went from 15 through 4s ranch to the area. It seems deserted. Also the lots are so small. How is the del sur elementary? It was closed by the time we passed by.

    Most residents do their shopping in 4 S Ranch or at Highland Village. It’s not too inconvenient to get there. Yes, the lots are small but the homes are appealing and the price seems to be right. The drawback is the high MR.
