Participanthow do we know drunk driving is dangerous?
if you were riding a bike down the street, would you rather have an intoxicated loved one who knew you were on the bike or a steroidal teen in a monster truck late for a job behind you?
Bad driving is dangerous. Drunk driving may not be dangerous.

How about someone speeding while texting? One of the ride-alongs I did, the person was swerving a lot. The cop thought it might be a DUI and it turned out the girl was on the phone. Just as bad, true. Bad driving is dangerous period. Don’t invite trouble by getting drunk and driving is all.

Participant
I haven’t read it, but I will. Drunk-walking is more dangerous? Maybe to oneself. Driving drunk, you can kill passengers in your car and the driver and/or passengers of the car you hit, or the pedestrians on the road.
More dangerous per mile traveled. But, of course, most people have low tolerance for walking, especially when drunk – no one’s going to try to walk 10 miles home from the bar. And there are all sorts of other confounding factors. E.g. drunk walkers are more likely to be wasted than drunk drivers.
In a similar key, bicycling is more dangerous per mile traveled than riding a motorcycle.
