What I want to know is why hasn’t Newt dropped out of the race yet? Give it up Newt…
Yup. I think he is setting the stage to parlay his delegate count to Romney for a high level cabinet position.

Yes if you look at the post about appreciation it was not all real estate all over the country. However in for certain property classes in the county here. Absolutely.
Ummm… do you care to mention your thoughts on real estate and your prognostications?
I’ve said it several times. We will be flat to down depending on GOV/FED intervention. The market will either have a big correction or we will see major inflation before it’s all over. The price to income levels are way too high if you consider the historic norms for interest rates.
You pointed to Rich “jumping the shark” as proof of time to buy in a post. Rich wrote that he intended to buy and stay in the home for 30 years which was which different than your short term advice to buy a condo in Mission Valley.

Too bad delegates don’t get alloted like that. I still think Mitt is going to win, but it’s not more than a 70% chance right now that he get to 1144 delegates before the election. He’s at around 550 before tonight.
The majority of Newt’s delegates will likely fall into Ron Paul’s hands.
I’ll go ahead and predict the RNC delegate count today for everyone. Mitt Romney wins 1450 delegates and Ron Paul wins 700ish. If Paul can carry Texas it’s going to be much closer.
Another prediction is that Ron Paul was in the lead for much of the early primary season while FoxNews and CNN said he wasn’t. That dramatically skews the election.

I’ve seen people who disagree with Ron Paul here on this blog. Maybe even some who think he’s a bit nuts. But I don’t recall seeing any Ron Paul haters.
markmax haters, on the other hand…
An excellent distinction.

Other guy here. My neighborhood is an absolute magnet for corporate relocation buyers moving here for great jobs. We usually get 20 to 30 new families each year moving into our community of about 1000 homes. Right now there are 6 homes on the market and 2 I wouldnt consider saleable (crappy locations no one would want). The other 4 were listed very recently at prices anywhere from $100 to 200K above the comps. In about a week those buyers are going to start arriving in hungry hordes. What do you think is going to happen? Do you honestly believe prices will be flat to down with that kind of scenario? I’d bet dinner at least 2 of those 4 houses sell for $50K+ above recent comps.April 24, 2012 at 6:11 PM #742171SD RealtorParticipantYou are ridiculous to argue with. You predicted another tsunami. I made a wager with you on this board about your prediction.
Loser goes away and never comes back. This is what I remember. Dont say things that never happened. I suggest you go back and read the post carefully and don’t post things out of context.

What on earth makes you think that Paul has a chance to win in Texas? He’s not terribly popular there. I’ve only seen one poll since Santorum dropped out and Paul still barely gets into double digit support. His approval/disapproval is still negative (compared to both Romney and Gingrich being positive). I know it’s still 6 weeks away, and things could change. And he may pick up a few delegates. But win Texas? He doesn’t have a chance.

Losing 5-7% or even 10-15% on a house over years is nothing compared to taking a 30%+ hit on stock in 1-3 months…And you can’t live in pile of stock shares.
And from this point on almost impossible to lose 30+% in a house in a few months short of act of mother nature.
Impossible? So if a home buyer puts 10% down on a $400K ($40K) home and the housing market goes down 3%, in a month, 3 months, 6 months, whatever, the home is now down $12k (if he has to sell add another 7-8% but I will leave that out). That is a 30% loss (without sellers commission) on the buyers original $40k investment.

Brian: I’m going to advise caution, man. You hang out with that Florida GOP crowd and you’re gonna come away loving Jesus, guns and bourbon whiskey!
I doubt that I can be persuaded.
I love political conventions. There an energy about them. My first one was when Bob Dole was in San Diego. I was invited to a party back then and I love it even though I didn’t agree with the Republican crowd.

My favorite times in politics were at SD “Election Central” in Golden Hall where many candidates would rent rooms for their parties for their campaign people and contributors. Some rented rooms in an adjacent hotel. Hopping from party to party until the wee hours of the morning was nothing less than exhilarating!

My mom worked for the Registrar of Voters and used to to run the Election Central as part of her job duties. Golden Hall, Kona Kai, and a few other venues. I remember sneaking into some great parties in high school. Lots of booze. If my mom ever knew why I was willing to go get the civics lessons on those nights. LOL.April 25, 2012 at 3:16 PM #742225bearishgurlParticipant

. . . I love political conventions. There an energy about them.
