Lumber liquidators for flooring and if you do it yourself you save big. Vertical carbonized bamboo for $2 a square foot. Travertine tiles at HD for $3 a square foot, but you have to scavenge through and find the tiles you want. Plus, again if you do it yourself lots of $$$ saved.

November 4, 2009 at 9:28 AM #477848anParticipantfloorsonly.com is where I got most of my materials. Best price I’ve found on brand name stuff. I found my contractor on craigslist and I’m very satisfied w/ him. PM me if you want referral.

November 4, 2009 at 12:54 PM #478316exsdgalParticipantWe used simplefloors.com to redo our second floor. Their prices were excellent. We purchased their 12mm laminate flooring. For a first time diy floor project the installation went pretty smoothly.
For painting a 2200 sqft home, we spent ~$1K on paint and supplies. We used Behr.
Does anyone have recommendations for purchasing countertops and bath fixtures? Thx.
Cheers.
