NPR ran a story last week that highlighted how low property taxes are in California due to prop 13 – and how prop 13 is real reason why California has budget problems.
All I wanted to do is scream!!!
I have decided to stop listening to NPR, I never knew NPR was on the California State Employee Union payroll.
I felt the same way.
It wasn’t NPR. It was KPBS in San Diego.
That’s why I don’t donate money to KPBS locally. I used to listen to Tom Fudge but he’s such a bad interviewer/reporter.
NPR/PBS, yes, but KPBS, no.
And don’t forget the riveting stories about such important things like the recession’s effect on the plight of the African Dung Beetle.

April 2, 2010 at 4:07 PM #534814EconProfParticipantI also used to contribute to KPBS and support NPR, but their bias finally killed my appetite. Their Editor’s Roundtable program on Friday mornings covers local issues of interest, but there is little attempt at balance. Their idea of fair is to have 3 liberal journalists, one moderate or conservative, all moderated by an obvious liberal.

April 2, 2010 at 4:58 PM #534844briansd1GuestTalking about property taxes, they are considering a parcel tax in SD.
I think that during these tight time, local government is closing libraries, parks and cutting back education to rile-up the soccer moms with children.
There are so many other places to cut, but they cut what affects people the most to generate support for additional taxes.
