BOOM Town USA …
Another interesting Boom artifact lay in my office …
I was in an airport in June 1995 and picked up an issue of Money Magazine, which had a feature article on San Diego real estate, titled “Boom Town USA”. I left the magazine opened to page 78 on my shelf. It is starting to fade a little bit, but it’s one of the great masterpieces ever written (not really).
But for me, when I read this it indicated to me that we were going over the top. I looked back at it today and it’s really kind of funny to read. Almost like watching the Bush-Dukakis debate 4 years later and wondering what happened to all that Cold War rhetoric.
