ParticipantI spent my youngest years in Huntington Beach, my middle school, high school and college years in Berwyn PA (Main Line PA/ Suburbs of Philly).
My personal take on the area is that its very old money there. Golf course memberships rule the world, “The Shore” is the best beach on earth (which is a complete joke, New Jersey is a dump) and people are not very open minded. That being said, the landscape is beautiful. Right now you can get a nice plot of land in a good school district for about 500K. I hated it there until high school.
The wife and I moved back to the east coast for a few years to the DC suburbs in Northern VA, went up to see my family in PA a lot and we will never move back to the east coast.
If we had to move, I would choose Denver or possibly AZ.
My wife could probably give you more reasons why you shouldnt move there if you are interested..
