When a party that chooses poorly is bailed out — whether or not it makes economic sense — poor decisions are encouraged in the future as the party gets to unilaterally enjoy any gains, but escape losses — which ends up not making economic sense in the long run.
I didn’t get to gain when people took cash out on the bubble, I shouldn’t have to pay to cover their losses. Period. IMO.

October 2, 2010 at 10:45 PM #611954scaredyclassicParticipantand yet…i’ve been thinking about it from this angle lately — what this country is all about is CONSUMPTION. consume consume consume or die, grow or die, growth and consumption and land development and buying crap at all costs. So it kinda makes sense. the people you would want to punish are people who refuse for some weird personal reason to consume as much as possible, who refuse to take on huge debts, eat more than they can, and also refuse to just buy every last piece of crap in t he store.
if you want to be responsible you SHOULD be punished — because you a re violating the central tenet of our society, which is consume faster and faster, eat tonights dinner and tomorrows and next week as well, all in one sitting. eat eat eat, grow grow grow….or save a few nuts at your own risk. we will shrink your nuts down to nothingness….you SHOULD have to pay to cover their losses because their losses are actually what keep this massive ponze scheme afloat, those losses are the Will To Consume. The people who refuse to consume or take on huge debts need to be crushed like bugs.

People who have taken stupid decisions would be amply reward in one form or another and we all have to foot the bill and we are doing it..October 2, 2010 at 10:56 PM #612047fun4vnay2ParticipantReasonable people are punished for sure and this is quite clear as a writing on the wall.
