Many employers are also doing credit reports now as well as background checks.
I’d just black out your SSN and your account numbers.

And I am assuming that the free on-line version is fine. Right? I do not need to provide one with a credit score, correct?

For instance, your credit score reflects inquiries which a landlord wouldn’t likely care about. OTOH, seeing that you are current on loans and credit cards without any late payments tells the landlord that you are a reasonably safe bet to pay the rent on time. That’s really what they are trying to deduce by reviewing your credit.
The free online version contains the same information as the one that they are able to obtain on their own.

August 11, 2007 at 9:44 AM #73252EnorahParticipantThank you, again.
I have a real resistance when it comes to having to prove my worthiness as a renter. I know, it’s my issue, but there is something about it that feels gross and humiliating to me, and I have great credit, so that is not the issue.
Somehow, magically, for the last 20 years I have just been able to attract to me people who rented to me based on a more personal connection. Alas, this time things seem to be different.
I am looking at it as an opportunity to heal the issues I have around rejection.
