Cellular networking giant Qualcomm Inc. plans to close its office near Tigard this year, the San Diego company told employees today.
Qualcomm’s Oregon staff numbers about 70, according to one of its local employees, and consists primarily of software developers.
The company told employees its Tigard office will remain open for at least the next two months, and some workers may have the opportunity to relocate.

This is definitely real. confirmed with my friend who works up there. She may be relocating back to San Diego… so much for her big house for cheap $$.

And only if they comply. Motorola just laid off a bunch of folks here – and apparently didn’t file with WARN in CA. I don’t know if there will be consequences to ignoring the law.
