Hi All,
I had a loan with WAMU and we all know they were bought out/bailed out by us/JP Morgan Chase. Last year, I paid around $7500 in mortgage interest. Loan is a fixed 30 year, refinanced, no cash out, in 2002 or 2003. December 2008 statement showed that I owed $133K.
I split the mortgage interest with the other owner and we write it off on our taxes. This year, the statement is from JP Morgan and it states that what I paid in mortgage interest was $65! Heh, not a big write off there; obviously it is inaccurate. Could they have changed the terms of our loan? Any ideas on how to handle this?
Also, I want to see the title to the house. When I called WAMU before they went under I was told that the deed was with the city or county. Anyone know if this is true and if I head down to Pacific Highway, will they really have it there?
