So how much of an impact on CA housing (particularly San Diego) do you think a President Trump would have? We’ve had a lot of threads where people have put forward the argument that a lot of Asians have come to CA and bought property and that is one of the big drivers of high prices. And arguably it’s not just Asians buying property in CA but wealthy Latin Americans and even some Europeans.
If Trump were to win and then significantly cut back on immigration would that slow demand for housing? What if he started a trade war with China and/or other countries would that impact real estate? What if the number of H1 visas was significantly cut?
Are there any reasons why a President Trump would cause CA housing market to go up? Other reasons why a President Trump might cause CA housing market to slump or decline?
Trump won’t start a trade war with china. If anything he and his clan will be kissing emperor xi’s feet at every opportunity they get to gain some favors. Some leaders talk softly and carry a big stick. Trump like to talk big and most likely carry a tiny stick (both literally and figuratively).
I have no goddamn idea what he will try to do, or what he will be successful at doing.
And neither does anybody else.
And that’s what makes him such a poor choice. Maybe he’ll be benign, rendered impotent by the checks and balances of our system. Maybe he’ll let his ego consume him and in childish frustration and he’ll start World War III.
This isn’t fantastic speculation – these are very plausible scenarios.
So go ahead and speculate in this thread. Have fun. But it’s all a guess. Nobody knows what this guy would do when has real power.
