“We hear of the conversion of water into wine at the marriage in Cana, as of a miracle. But this conversion is, through the goodness of God, made every day before our eyes. Behold the rain which descends from heaven upon our vineyards, and which incorporates itself with the grapes to be changed into wine; a constant proof that God loves us, and loves to see us happy!”

I don’t. I’m such a homebody in my 30s. I do like going to breweries, but I rarely get to do that, maybe once a month.November 3, 2015 at 1:02 PM #790973NotCrankyParticipantIf I smoked I think I could be happy with homegrown. I’d enjoy growing it too,if.
November 3, 2015 at 1:41 PM #790975FlyerInHiGuestThe attitudes about drugs are changing perhaps because more people do drugs. But beware of the consequences.
I’m ok with freedom of choice but know that there are risks.November 3, 2015 at 2:17 PM #790977FlyerInHiGuestI’m in Vegas a lot. There’s skid row that not pretty.
Even among the better off, people go in debt to drink. It’s common to pay $1500 or more for a table at nightclubs, drinks additional. People coming for bachelor or bachelorette parties do it all the time. They might charge to their credit cards and share the cost with friends.
I get to go for free because I know people. But otherwise, I’d be stressed out charging all those expenses to a credit card. Drugs and alcohol are pretty bad vices but there’s no stopping addictive human nature.
November 3, 2015 at 7:11 PM #790981spdrunParticipantDo locals actually do that, or do they just go to happy hours to drink for cheap?
November 3, 2015 at 7:46 PM #790983FlyerInHiGuestThere’s medical marijuana in Nevada but I’m not sure how it works. One of my neighbors down the hall used to smoke a lot. You could smell it. One day there was a notice to pay rent taped to the door. Poor guy is now gone. (BTW lots of desperate or absentee landlords who don’t screen tenants very well).
I think 420 makes you lazy and not want to work. I don’t think it’s a habit that is conducive to long term financial health. People then think that being a little high and happy is a normal state of being.Seems like there are many more bars here than in CA. People drink and gamble a lot at the local bars and casinos located even in the suburbs in each neighborhood.
Until I came to Vegas I didn’t know that nightclubs (even the most popular one) use place holders on slow nights to make it look busy. They would comp tables to guests and friends. You have to arrive before a certain time, you get 1 free bottle and you have to tip the waitress. if the club suddenly gets busy with paying guests, you maybe asked to leave. That’s how I get to go for free.

My grandfather was a shill for the Pioneer Club in Vegas during 1948.
November 4, 2015 at 1:23 PM #791005FlyerInHiGuesti just tag along. I’m happy shill.
I find guilty pleasure in experiencing things, nearly for free, what other people pay a lot of money for. -
