Now that you bring this up, I completely agree.
April 12, 2012 at 8:59 AM #741542UCGalParticipantHer name isn’t Lillian is it?
A friend was under the spell of a Lillian for far too long. I’m wondering how she’s doing now that he finally got free of her financial extraction.April 12, 2012 at 9:52 AM #741545Diego MamaniParticipantYup. Print this page up, and ask him to read it as a personal favor to you. If he still wants to hand over his father’s money to the con artist, at least you will have done your duty as a friend.
People, stop using words such as “investing in this deal.” It’s not an investment, and it’s not a deal. It’s a con and a scam. It’s not even an original con.

April 12, 2012 at 12:16 PM #741553briansd1GuestI don’t know….
My young cousin in his mid-30s is kinda ugly (in my opinion), but he’s a nice guy. He has virtually no assets but he has a good job (he’s well-qualified and likeable so he can find good jobs if he puts his mind to it).
He is a bleeding heart liberal and traveled the world after graduating. Worked different jobs and spent all his money.
Well, he met a beautiful girl on the Net. She’s a trust fund girl who owns houses in Rome and Berlin. They are getting married later this year.
Although she’s rich and beautiful, she wants a simple guy who, like her, is into healthful eating, meditation, etc…
So not all beautiful girls are shallow.
Another of my cousins is beautiful. She married an ugly, not so likeable, loud guy. So we all feel sorry for her. I think she’s a nice woman who is willing to “accept her destiny” rather than seek divorce.
April 12, 2012 at 12:47 PM #741558scaredyclassicParticipantPeople who are reAlly getting married after such lengthy singlehoods often have problems just setting up joint checking accts let alone commingling life savings.
April 12, 2012 at 12:53 PM #741559scaredyclassicParticipantSo here’s a possible test likely to prove it’s a scan;
He needs full access to other messages sent from her online dating acct to other potential suitors to see if other Financial propositions occurred.
If he just asks first if she’s ever made such requests and casually follows up w a request to check her online dating messages, he may see her flip out…
Not that this test is necessary. If he really does a bacground check and has a lawyer ask hard questions on the deals, the girl will probablyrun

Just ask Bobby Petrino… or the LONG list of others.
As Jim Rome says, “The unbeaten, untied, undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World is… sex. Ultimately it takes down everyone it encounters in the ring.”
Now, by “takes down” he doesn’t mean “destroys” (although that happens a lot too), but he means that virtually everyone ultimately succombs (even clergy, apparently).

Of course they will 🙂
… making over $200,000 a year (with documents to prove).
Faked. A con artist will try their best to convince you that they don’t need your money. Sometimes they won’t even ask for it – they’ll find a way to make you want to give it to them.
… or why she is looking for boy friend from the internet.
Nothing wrong with that. Just use the same precautions you would with someone you meet at a club.
If her position is that she’s doing it out of the kindness of her heart, just ask who would actually own the properties. Her company, no doubt. I’d love to hear her reasoning for that. And if it would be him, just make sure he’s represented throughout the process by an agent or lawyer of his choosing.
And beautiful 30yo virgins do exist – I knew one. They come with a lot of other baggage, though.

The best idea from above is to say that it is in a trust and see how fast she disappears. You might also have your friend hire a PI to do a background check just for fun. 10 to 1 he doesn’t know her real name.
Winner. For a very minor sum of money, you can do an extensive background check on this person. The service that most youth sports organizations use (Pop Warner, Little League, etc) costs roughly $40 and is very in-depth.
If he hires a PI, said PI can unearth even more info, such as her previous dalliances and “business dealings” with the Lonely Hearts Club.
