Playa Vista CA (LA)

Hi,
We currently own a single family home in Westwood area of RB. We are looking to move to LA for work as one of us has found a job at El Segundo.
We are still not decided on whether to sell or rent our property here. At the same time we liked Playa Vista near Playa del Rey/Marina Del Rey.
Questions:
1. We are not familiar with the area. Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions about buying in Playa Vista. We would most probably be able to afford at most a 2 bd condo at PV for the price of our home here.
2. Does anyone have recommendations for good agents for that area or surrounding areas such as Torrance, Culver City?

I’d buy a cheaper house in El Segundo to keep the commute low. It isn’t cheap but it is a relative value and shorter commute.

Marina del Rey is very pretty but also feels a bit snooty and has very aggressive traffic cops.

I’m in Culver City and like it a lot. Everything in LA is based on commute and schools. Manhattan Beach would be great for you based on an easy commute and great public schools…but it is really expensive.

Tons of construction in Playa Vista right now with new condos/apartments/tech offices going up. Lots going on.

Prices are really high right now and the market everywhere is smoking hot. May be best to rent for a while and get a feel for things.
