    I second catab. Dump pay-tv providers. If you can’t live without espn etc, maybe you can justify paying $100 a month (but do you really have time to watch?).

    Think about how many hours you actually spend to watch something on cable TV, and make sure to remove ads in the calculation. That’s right, cable-TV is waste of $.

    Netflix is the answer. I’ve streamed movie/shows from Netflix to my mac and it works pretty well.

    does anybody own the newest version of Neo (Nero Multimedia Suite 10), and can it rip a Blu-ray disc to a movie that you can store on your hard drive and then play on your PC?

    As long as there is no copy protection (so no).
    You want to familiarize yourself with DVD Decrypter

    No. Nero is by the book. You can’t even rip some dvd’s with it. If you’re interested in ripping, look for some opensource solutions or pay for shareware. Of course, the assumption is you are using these tools to make backups of the DVD you purchased

    No. Nero is by the book. You can’t even rip some dvd’s with it. If you’re interested in ripping, look for some opensource solutions or pay for shareware. Of course, the assumption is you are using these tools to make backups of the DVD you purchased
