The exploitation of Paris sickening per the nytimes. Of course expressing disgust at others expressions is just another sickening expression.

I’m sorry, but fuck this thread. What the hell is wrong with you?
I think sc is just being sardonic. I hope…November 15, 2015 at 12:28 PM #791380dumbrenterParticipantWow… Some are really more equal than others!!
Let me see if saying the same thing slightly different will invite the attention of those moderating this here. If you don’t hear from this account ever again, you know why!
Jews are super misogynists. They trwat their women like crap, especially the black dress wearing ones. Its definitely not subtle or difficult to perceive. You see that in carmel valley all the time. Add to that isrelis have a massive inferiority complex most probably from their constant whining and whopping they got thru out time. Do you think there will be an “event” in their borders soon? Stock play there?
Come one, I’m jut saying what everyone here is thinking, especially the non jeweish ones.IF only jews did not kill Jesus…. well you get the train of thought from scaredy’s post…..and everything could be cool.
No more refugees will be allowed into europe. They’ll be shot at the border. Short turkey? This must have some economic effect.
Arabs are super misogynists. They trwat their women like crap. Its definitely not subtle or difficult to perceive. Stock play there?
If saddam hussein could’ve just not invaded Kuwait or been less of a dock about inspections, assad could be in syria, the Iraqis could be under the thumb of saddam, and everything could be cool. Stupid humans
November 15, 2015 at 12:31 PM #791381JazzmanParticipant
Yes this feels different. But still not on the level of fhe London bombing.
I think is feels different because France was against the Iraq war. So people are asking why France?
Well France was right about the Iraq war, but it didn’t escape the backlash because it is deeply secular (banned burka), has the largest Muslim population in Europe (colonial past), high youth unemployment (disproportionately along ethnic lines), has been militarily very active on a number of fronts fighting jihadists. and its freedom of speech (Charlie Hebdo) hardly warms it to western hating muslims.November 15, 2015 at 12:37 PM #791382dumbrenterParticipant
Scaredy, I like you and I am a fan of your posts in general — but I have to say, I also find this thread to be in pretty poor taste. I guess it’s a perspective thing. Just my two cents.
I have to say I did not see this before my last post.
Your likes/dislikes aside, I am sure if somebody posted about isreilis in a similar manner, nobody would see it as in “poor taste” or a “perspective thing”.November 15, 2015 at 12:41 PM #791383FlyerInHiGuestJazzman, what do you think will happen to France if Marine Le Pen becomes president?
November 15, 2015 at 12:46 PM #791384JazzmanParticipant
Many viewed foreclosure crisis vultures as in similarly poor taste.
Apples to pears.November 15, 2015 at 12:47 PM #791385dumbrenterParticipant

My view is that people tend to dramatically overestimated the investment implications of geopolitical events… but I guess that’s a different topic.
Sounds right; just over a week ago 224 died in a plane crash most likely caused by terrorism. No significant reaction.
Flight 17 shot down over Ukraine. No significant reaction.
This feels different
That is correct. Because those shot down were not of the right ‘nationality’.
At the end of the day, the stock market is a sum of hopes & fears of those investing in it and they tend to apply the right discounts to those killed based on where they are from….. they value western lives more than others.November 15, 2015 at 12:49 PM #791386JazzmanParticipant
Jazzman, what do you think will happen to France if Marine Le Pen becomes president?
About as likely as Trump becoming President in the US. Equally horrific to contemplate but both have their roles to play in the democratic process.November 15, 2015 at 1:10 PM #791387scaredyclassicParticipantI feel sick of it all.
I feel no solidarity with any nation or group or ethos.
Just a vague sympathy with Abrahams G-ds impulse to wipe us all off the face of the earth. Our ceaseless desire to hurt and dominate. Our absurd certain types in our correctness. The mess we make at every turn.
And test I think it’s women’s fault as much as men

The world is complicated, and will only get more so.
Your job is to survive, not change the world.

That makes you normal.November 15, 2015 at 2:00 PM #791390FlyerInHiGuestThe world would probably be a better place if countries were all the size of Switzerland and Cambodia. The big countries like to dominate.
Unlike Americans, the French people have given up the idea of foreign intervention. They just want to live peacefully and aren’t itching to invade any country. It’s their leaders on the left and right who still hang on to the ideas of empire, building corporate and miltary champions, etc…
Power does go to your head. You invest in one condo,Then you’re ready for the next one, and the next one. Pretty soon you want to borrow for an apartment building, then a bigger one, etc…
We are in the pursuit of happiness, right? Happiness is too nebulous. It’s easier if we quantify it in terms of money, or winners and losers.
November 15, 2015 at 3:33 PM #791391flyerParticipantNot to minimize the horrific events, but the whom or what concerning fault regarding the state of affairs in the world can and will be argued forever.
So, imo, because life is short, the really smart play is to figure out how to live the life you want to live regardless of what’s going on out there.
