ParticipantHow does someone like Lou Dobbs not understand ‘trade deficit’? He uses the words ‘trade debt’ — he is talking about the cumulative trade deficit of 6+ trillion. I don’t understand how someone can make a mistake like that and it gets by the editors.
I just realized today that I am running a trade deficit with the grocery store of about 8% GPP (gross personal product). I appointed a representative to go to the store to shout at them angrily, saying they need to reduce the value of chips & salsa versus the dollar so I can reduce my trade deficit with them. We’ll see how that goes.

Participantsomeone was ranting about unfair trade agreements… bush? he was talking about import tariffs and how we have “no” tariffs and therefore, they shouldn’t either. does that make any sense? isn’t it our perogative to have or not have import tariffs?
