Walker flopped no doubt, but the shoulder by Franklin was deliberate and it cost the Aztecs. After all the hype on this post, Miracle on Ice, Jesus, John Wooden, male emotional breakdowns, one grad school post after another, the Aztecs ended the season 2-5 in the big games they needed to win.

March 25, 2011 at 11:14 AM #680831SD RealtorParticipantTough game. The aztecs did not show poise down the stretch. The fact of the matter is that poor free throw shooting caught up with them as well. Desmond pretty much summed it up. I still believe Fish is an excellent coach and has done mircales with the program with respect to bringing it to uncharted ground.
Additionally on the pivotal UCON posession when the aztecs cut the lead to 1 with a little under 2 minutes left CLEARLY Walker travelled but it wasn’t called… shot goes up, doesn’t fall, state cannot get the rebound and it gets kicked out and UCON drains the 3. To me that killed them.
Also in no way, no how, no chance is KL ready for the pros. Guys who say this kid is a lottery pick are dead wrong. Easy for KL to get numbers in the Mountain West. However look at his game against east coast schools where defense is tough and he is pedestrian. I am not saying he is not a good player but no chance he is in the same boat with guys like Williams on Arizona and some other bigtime kids. Another year or two maybe… otherwise he will join Slaughter in Italy.

March 25, 2011 at 2:48 PM #680916sdduuuudeParticipantTurns out I didn’t need to go to grad school or move to San Diego to get a team into the Elite 8.
Arizona crushed the Dukies last night. What a performance! Makes up for that final game a few years ago where the refs were clearly on the Duke payroll.
It is tough carrying momentum like that into the next game. After a great performance, it is easy to go flat. Go Cats !
