930am… I am up by 5am but my Mexican wife might just shoot you at 7
Yeah, my wife likes to sleep in too. Hence, I just hooked up the trickle charger to the bike instead of starting it. There is always another way, instead of the blower, there is always the rake, instead of power tools there is always hand tools, was just wondering what the consensus was, but like everything else, everybody is different in their viewpoint.
Depends, a one off for a remodel repair gets leeway, IMHO, time is tight on the weekend to crunch the work out.
Things like bikes, hobbies (car restoration), Yard work I’d say 8am.
Local variations exist, ie Phoenix, Vegas, desert communities, during summer, 6am is acceptable as everybody wants to beat the heat.
If you’re starting it and letting it idle, let it wait. If you want to leave for a ride, go for a ride and just trying to minimize the roar until on main road.
If you need to pump your throttle and do vroom vroom engine revving thing to keep it running, fix your bike.
My neighborhood is spooky quiet, so I hold off on lawn mower, leaf blower, other noise until 9 AM just to make sure I don’t disturb anyone.
I have noticed someone the next street over who has apparently set his rule at 8:30 Sat to fire up his lawn mower.
I think you’ll get a harsher reaction starting a non-necessity like a motorcycle early in the day than you would a necessity like a lawn mower.
9-10AM , weekends. If I see guest showing up at the neighbor’s place , or getting together in the back yard then I’ll quit and do the work another time and let them enjoy their visit.
Regarding motorcycles: I used mine like a car, so I often started it at odd hours. I just kept the stock/quiet pipe on it. If you’re one of the “loud pipes save lives” Hardley-Ableson crowd, you’re inconsiderate by definition.
If you keep the stock muffler on a relatively modern bike, it shouldn’t wake half the block even at 3 am.

That’s very neighborly! Kudos for that.
