You’re my new hero. I’ve been trying to cancel cable for about, oh, almost 12 years now. I never had it before my wife and I met. Even today we watch only about two hours a week on average (we’re readers) so I’m not sure why she wants it. She says when she does want to watch she wants it available then and there. But it seems like a waste to me. We pay for premium channels too and don’t even watch them most of the time.
On the other hand, we like movies and are all geared up with the last gen of Pioneer Kuro televisions and HD so, at least, the football game looks amazing and the grass a natural green.[/quote]
Pioneer Kuro sounds like some kind of traveling samurai? I do understand the usefulness and joys or television.Still not much my thing. We have a few videos and borrow from the library for the kids, it is almost always something educational. Their grandmother gave them a set of all the cartoon garbage we watched as kids. Bugs Bunny and roadrunner, Tom and Jerry, that stuff is terrible. Every character is a violent idiot. I took it away from them :).January 23, 2011 at 1:01 PM #657316NotCranky

ParticipantYeah. DH is watching the game with his sons. It’s such a nice day. Too nice to be indoors. But. I have some work I have to finish so just sitting in front of the computer while also watching parts of the game. I thing GB is going to win. I wouldn’t mind seeing part of the Jets/Steelers. Well, won’t have a choice.

ParticipantI just got back from ice skating lessons with the kids. We are going out to play a little foot hockey and then play some tball.
I don’t subject my family to watching the games but I do have the dvr rolling so when everyone goes to bed tonite I will get my fix in.
The hard part is making sure I don’t inadvertently hear the scores.
