So who do you think can match Trump on the debate stage and respond to his name calling?
Michael Avenatti would do a good job.
April 19, 2019 at 11:40 PM #812324FlyerInHiGuestI wanted Avenatti because it would have been satisfying to have a fighter give Republicans a taste of their own medicine, but he’s no longer in that running.
Just listened to Pete Buttigieg. Young guy speaks so well and knows so much. I’m impressed.
April 20, 2019 at 7:58 AM #812325spdrunParticipantI’m not convinced that a gay president is electable, even in 2020.

Gay or straight, Pete Buttigieg is the ideal guy. I mean, who is so smart and yet so humble? Very inspiring. He makes me want to be a better person.
The other side of me wants an asshole like Trump who will make Republicans squirm like Trump horrified the left.
I was listening to Ben Shapiro and Tucker Carlson talk; and man, those guys are douche bags. They and their Fox Newa followers need to experience some of the same medicine.

[/quote]Boy, after reading about all of Avenatti’s shenanigans, I bet you regret endorsing that messed up individual.
He just seemed sleazy to me since the first time I saw him speak on TV. He just came across that way.

I don’t regret supporting Avenatti. I would still send him a nice contribution check if he got the nomination. I love Avenatti’s beautiful expensive suits, his IQ, his hardball tactics, his love of money and the high life. Why not? *Shrug* Nothing Trump didn’t do.

Way to double down. I believe the saying goes “better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.”
April 21, 2019 at 10:09 PM #812339FlyerInHiGuestFor the business minded, Pete Buttigieg speaks about what he learned about using data at McKinsey.
April 24, 2019 at 11:02 PM #812386FlyerInHiGuestOMG, I’m in love. Pete Buttigieg wants a faster train between south bend and Chicago. Said we shouldn’t settle for the slowest trains in the developed world.
Harvard, Oxford, Rhodes scholar, military officer. He did a mock monetary policy project in HS. Concert pianist, read tons of books, speaks 8 languages, knows Age of Enlightenment philosophy, author, McKinsey consultant. what can the guy not do?
April 25, 2019 at 1:01 AM #812387temeculaguyParticipantHis resume is impressive and he checks most of the democratic boxes. I perused his election website and can’t find much policy, just platitudes. I’m glad he surpassed Beto and Kamila, but he has a steep hill to climb to Bernie and Biden for the nomination and until he takes policy positions he’s got Beto’s “all hat and no cattle” problem. His opponents will press him on policy as the debates whittle down the field. It may not be your experience but “progressive”and “Socialist” is a negative in the general election. My guess at this point, Biden vs Trump, sorta final answer unless Michelle Obama enters the race. Schultz is the wildcard, he speaks to independents and those not entrenched, I certainly liked what he had to say, but I voted for Perot so my opinion should be summarily ignored.
April 25, 2019 at 11:36 AM #812393NeetaTParticipantOh, yes, sorry guys, I am voting for Trump again. I have benefitted under his administration more than any other administration. Make CA great, get rid of all the democrats.
August 27, 2019 at 11:50 AM #813377FlyerInHiGuestAlthough I am voting for a Democrat, I still need to donate $485 to Trump. Flu reminded me that I lost a $500 bet. I am a man of my word so I already bought $15 of Trump plastic straws.
I want a Democrat Trump. I don’t want a nice guy or gal. I want a tough guy who will stand for liberal cities at the exclusion of deplorable areas.
I cannot support Elizabeth Warren. She wants to subsidize rural internet with our hard earned money. No. Let the free market and the profit motive allocate resources.
I think a good win-win would be to build coal plants in red areas so we can mandate electric cars in blue areas. Then we all have what we want.
August 27, 2019 at 1:19 PM #813378The-ShovelerParticipantWell You will have what you want LOL (be careful what you wish for however you may be one of the % paying for it).
I would like to get an electric car but IMO they are still too expensive and not ready for wide scale adoption.
(not enough charging stations, too long to charge etc…).

Does your wife have her own car? If so, the gas car can serve a different purpose.
Don’t expect your electric car to do everything. Get a cheap electric car — a new eGolf or a used electric. It will change your life. If you’re thrifty, you will love being to drive for pennies.
Or splurge and get a Tesla for luxury and more aspirational reasons. Tesla owners love their cars and can’t brag enough, even if they are the type to believe climate change is a hoax. I’m waiting for the electric F150 to be a status symbol in red states.
BTW, it’s so nice to mock people who wait at Costco for gas. They are the one suffering from range anxiety! It’s a huge time saver not to have to fill up or do oil changes.
