Trump – Putin 2020
August 17, 2018 at 1:25 PM #810712The-ShovelerParticipantActually I would like to see Bernie take another run at it.
I would not be surprised to see Trump not run in 2020.
And the divide continues:
And in this corner the candidate from the extreme radical right is….
In the other corner we have the opponent from the extreme radical left is….
Won’t be long we will tear the country apart.
August 17, 2018 at 2:20 PM #810713FlyerInHiGuestShoveler, what exactly about the Democratic platform is extreme left?
Liberalism and free trade. If anyhing the Democrats have moved to the right.
The Economist has a good video. The symmetry that you think exists is part of fake news and the right wing narrative. Definitely not objective from a political science standpoint.

If he runs, Trump is unstoppable in 2020. Otherwise, we will get our first female president… Ivanka.

California will be first to split IMO.

She’s very smart in a Trump way. And very well spoken — better than Trump or Sarah Sanders. She should run for something.August 24, 2018 at 2:52 PM #810772phasterParticipanthuh,… the better question is
SADLY,… WHO WILL RUN vs WHAT’S NEEDED
Given we’ve had way too many politicians w/ law and business back grounds,… which is how we arrived at the place where we are (i.e. up $hit creek)

Why Trump Supporters Believe He Is Not CorruptWhat the president’s supporters fear most isn’t the corruption of American law, but the corruption of America’s traditional identity.
…Once you grasp that for Trump and many of his supporters, corruption means less the violation of law than the violation of established hierarchies, their behavior makes more sense. Since 2014, Trump has employed the phrase rule of law nine times in tweets. Seven of them refer to illegal immigration.
Why were Trump’s supporters so convinced that Clinton was the more corrupt candidate even as reporters uncovered far more damning evidence about Trump’s foundation than they did about Clinton’s? Likely because Clinton’s candidacy threatened traditional gender roles. For many Americans, female ambition—especially in service of a feminist agenda—in and of itself represents a form of corruption. “When female politicians were described as power-seeking,” noted the Yale researchers Victoria Brescoll and Tyler Okimoto in a 2010 study, “participants experienced feelings of moral outrage (i.e., contempt, anger, and/or disgust).”
So my wish for the next POTUS would be for woman w/ a solid science back ground,… (FYI its not out of the realm of possibility given)

I would like an unemotional, rational woman to run the country. Angela Merkel and Nordic politicians fit the mold.
I don’t understand why people feel threatened by powerful women. As a man, I’d love a woman to take care of me and bring home the bacon. Less stress for me.
The future belongs to women… they do better in school than men and they are getting more educated.
I don’t understand why people are anxious over change. Just embrace it, make the best of it, and enjoy watching the world. Change is interesting.
You know, my dog liked to take trips to the beach, mountains, meet different people. Interesting!
August 24, 2018 at 5:12 PM #810774FlyerInHiGuestI think, one day, Stormy Daniels should run for governor of California. She’s at least as smart as Donald Trump, if not smarter.

I was talking to a friend over dinner. I think America could eventually break up because the electoral college, gerrymandered districts, and 2 senators per state, mean that representation is not population proportional for Democrats and urban center. . Liberals are just too nice. I believe if it were the other way around, the country would have split already.
The best thing that could happen would be to abolish the federal income tax and shrink the Federal government by 2/3, get rid of transfer payments by the Feds, and let states run their affairs.
August 28, 2018 at 10:23 AM #810784spdrunParticipantThe problem with this is that states share resources. What if Arizona ends up with lax environmental regulations and pollutes California’s air or water supply?

Not too worried. We live next to Mexico without any problems, or problems big enough to detract from the desirability of SD.

Yeah but housing in imperial beach and further north don’t seem to be affected. The free market decided that imperial beach is more valuable than Detroit.
