Both have really good/fresh/tasty food. Both buy their food locally and are part of the slow food movement. Both have decent vegitarian selections – as well as carnivore choices. [/quote]
I love the Linkery. If you are into beer, they always have 3-4 excellent local brews on cask.December 1, 2009 at 9:25 PM #4893278bitnintendo

ParticipantWent to the Bali Hai or restaurant week and thought it was excellent. The Fishery in Pacific Beach is a little
pricey but might leave you feeling OK about having the baby.December 1, 2009 at 9:45 PM #489332Raybyrnes

ParticipantHere is an idea for you. Sometimes we do a progressive night out where we have drinks and appetizer in one place, a main course in another, and dessert in a third.
Find three places within walking distance and you are set. Possible in Downtown, PB, Ja Jolla, Mission Valley. This is good with kids because they don’t have to stay in one place for a long time and you get to sample.
Extraordinary Desserts, is, of course, a good ending, but you can go as simple as baskin robbins. If you do that for dessert, maybe hit Karl Straus for appetizers, and somewhere in little Italy for main course.
The tapas places downtown – Ole Madrid is one – could be good with a kid. They are sort of loud and bustly and you can get a wide variety of things.
