http://www.yelp.com/biz/tropic-world-nursery-escondido“This nursery is has been there for about 40 years, and I remember it before slow old Highway 395 became mega freeway 15. Specializing in roses, unusual tropicals and succulents, they have acres and acres of hard to find perennials, specimen trees, boxed palms, cactus, and bamboo. Tropic World is where I go to find top notch quality and something out of the ordinary. They have lots of citrus, a great selection of ceramic pots, and savvy sales people. They have quite a large number of Proteas and Grevilleas. It’s true that there isn’t much in the way of annuals, but I can find elsewhere. And frankly, why plant a short lived annual every year when I can plant a perennial once? At the point of writing this they have tons of different succulents in 4″ pots for about $3.”
