For internet and bang for the bucks, I would get a HP G60-230US from Office Depot for $499 after rebates. It also come with HDMI connection for watching movies on a TV. Just need to follow up with OD on when is the next sale.

thinkpads are no longer made by ibm. They are now made by lenovo. And fit/finish reliability has been subpar since the t-60.
