Shouldn’t be a big deal relative to Clintrump’s issues.
I’ve always wished Weld was on the top of the ticket. I’m guessing he would have known about Aleppo.
That’s my point exactly. But it doesn’t really matter what the right or left think of this gaffe. The Hillary supporters on here is just as blindly devoted to her as the Trump supporters are. I can point to many many gaffe of Clintrump that are much worse. Better yet, I can point to their many past actions that are much worse. Action speaks louder than words. The left and right combined only have about 50% of the votes. It’s the independents who feel they have to pick between just these 2 that horrifies me.September 10, 2016 at 1:02 PM #801154SK in CVParticipant
Who voted for the Iraq war? What brought on ISIS? It doesn’t matter how many died. 1 is too many. But it matter more who lied about what.
It doesn’t matter how many died? If 100 lies leads to 1 death, it’s worse than no lies leading to tens of thousands of deaths? What lies are you even talking about?

I actually read the transcript and I agree that someone knowledgeable about the Syria situation could have been caught off guard by the way the question was posed. They were talking about something else and the interviewer suddenly asked about “Aleppo” without any transition whatsoever. It’s fair to say that Johnson’s mind was just in a different place and that particular name didn’t click given the context.
And yeah, I hate the shit the media and the public pulls when one of these “gaffes” happen. But the treatment that Johnson is getting on “Aleppo” is nothing like what has been used against Clinton in the “It doesn’t matter…” soundbite. The latter, where her words are cut-off mid sentence, is just plain deceitful sleaze.
The grab-ass on “Ah–Lep–O” was unfair and overblown, but Johnson didn’t come out of the interview looking like he had any real command of foreign policy either. Nobody’s going to fix Syria in the next presidential term or two, but I do give Clinton the nod on this particular issue simply because she’s got some first-hand experience with these matters where the other candidate is worse than ignorant (Trump is the one other candidate, there are no others relevant enough to consider…)

How does a gaffe lead to tens of thousands of death? What good is all the knowledge if it lead you to make the wrong decision? As for what lies, you don’t really care for answer. That shit has been covered for awhile all over the news from MSNBC to Fox and everywhere in between.September 10, 2016 at 5:18 PM #801164AnonymousGuestYou do understand that the reason Johnson has such a clean record of investigative history is that because nobody gives enough of a fuck about him to do an investigation?
The Republican party has been trying to ‘nail’ Hillary since the early nineties. No other politician in US history – probably the history of the world – has been the target of so much dirt-digging and smearing.
And despite all that, the best they’ve got is, well, not much relative to any politician with a long career. However by shouting the accusations long and often enough, the media does get more than a few suckers to believe the accusations may be true, or even that they matter (see posts by AN for examples…)
A truck driver with decades of experience on the highway is going to have more traffic tickets than sixteen year old with a learner’s permit – which one would you rather have driving the tractor trailer full of your cargo?

Bingo. Except its being going since Bill was governor of Arkansas. Literally scores of accusations over more than 3 decades and all they found was a blow job. That’s it. Nothing more. And that includes the current e-mail and Clinton Foundation fake scandals. There is absolutely nothing there.
September 16, 2016 at 11:05 AM #801303FlyerInHiGuestVery deplorable situation in my family. My first cousin once removed is visiting. Early 30s, PhD in biology. He didn’t know Aleppo. At least he’s not a trump supporter.

Clearly an outcast who is not taking his prescribed daily dose of MSM. Chemical castration would set him straight.October 19, 2016 at 9:07 PM #802492FlyerInHiGuestMy friend text me “Did she say Bag Daddy?” For real.

Just fucking stop.
Aleppo isn’t a one word place holder for the shit going on in Syria. That’s what’s so fucking stupid about this. And yes, this is about time to start saying fuck.
Because everybody keeps playing grab ass bullshit games.
The question could have been, what are you going to do about the Syrian crises. The Syrian conflict. or any number of things, but a one word bullshit Ah–Lep’—O is just fucking bullshit.
That shit started out of the Arab spring, that same shit that gave us Benghazi.
The same shit, the Ms Foreign Chops, can’t think of a more qualified person to be President was on the fucking deck of and principal role was Secretary of the Fucking State responsible for that sh*t. Apparently she was watching the video the Administration told us was responsible for it.
And Trump is a blowhard fucking idiot but everybody wants to play one word grabass and act like asking “What is Ah-Lep-O??” is a fucking major thing because they’re reading the the fucking primer published in almost every media outlet half of which like the LA Times were showcasing talking heads claiming is was Capital of ISIS which it isn’t and which the LA Times pointed out.
And as soon as questioner got over the “you don’t know Aleppo bullshit” and said Syria, Johnson was on it and pointing out that it’s a fucking quagmire mess and total disaster.
But play grab ass on “Ah–Lep–O”
Yes. Thank you.
