The right-wing noise machine has been telling Americans that Obama has been hurting their finances since before he even took office. Limbaugh called the recession “the Obama recession” while Bush was still president (but after Obama won the election) on the assumption that businesses anticipated poor treatment from a Democratic president and therefore started laying people off. And it’s been a non-stop barrage ever since.
I’ve frequently wondered, when listening to right wingers parrot this garbage, if they really believe it, deep down inside. I guess at least some of them do. Clearly, the right-wing noise machine is able to reach deep into people’s psyches and spin them up. Obviously, this woman had other problems. But clearly she was spun up about politics. And what do you think the odds are that she had a clear understanding of the issues that made her so angry?

As referenced above–interesting, and, in this case, sad–how so many people are so “riled” about this election. Why waste your time even thinking about any politician?
If everyone is really getting what they want out of life–who cares what anyone else believes, thinks or does?
I’d much rather spend my time concentrating on keeping everything I’ve acquired–“playing” every investment and other angle possible–and, most importantly, helping my family live their dreams–regardless of who is running the country. Then, WE win.

You know UCGal – I fall into that category myself. And ironically, it was probably on the more important elections than the big ticket items I was well versed on.
Many of the OC city council races, school boards and college districts have ‘winners’ that are making major choices for those area with as little as 6000 votes and often as few as 12K-14K votes.

I heard you. It’s hard getting enough information on school board, judges, community college board, etc candidates.
Even on the bigger races the margins are super narrow. I’m in the 52nd congressional district and they still can’t call it – less than 3000 votes apart and still 160k of absentee ballots to count. -
